December 2013

December is my favorite month of the year! I love Christmas and it helps that my birthday is this month as well! :) Unfortunately, I started work the first week of the month. However, we are super blessed that our moms are keeping Jack for us. Thanks Grammy and G! It made going back to work easier for me. Jack is getting so big and is so much fun! I can't believe how fast he is growing. Matt and I enjoyed our holiday with our man and spending Christmas with family. We also went to BACC for New Years- Thanks to G for keeping Jack!- and had a great time. We are looking forward to a busy and wonderful 2014!!

November 2013

November is here and I am still at home with my sweet boy and loving it! We have had a really really busy month! Our sweet guy is growing like a weed and has been giving us the best smiles lately! Jack and I walked our first 5k- Stovall's Sacrifice for Soldiers. He did great! Was sleeping and happy as can be until the last five minutes or so and then he got hungry. We were at the back of the pack but it was nice to get out and walk. Later in the month, Matt and I had our first "Parent's Night Out." Grammy kept Jack and we headed to Memphis and had a blast! We also hosted Thanksgiving for the Soldan Family at our house and had a great time. After that we headed out to Arkansas and spent the night with the Chastains and went to the Mack's sale the next day. He slept through the night for the first time on that trip (even though Mrs. Donna was really concerned about the swaddle :) )

October 2013

This has been an eventful month! We are settling in at home and Daddy has had to go back to work! My Mom and Matt's Mom have stayed with us for the first two weeks and they have been lifesavers! The weather is still nice and Jack and I have been able to go outside a little bit and he loves it. Still no strolling yet but we will hopefully be up to it soon. We also went to the farm for the first time and had a good time there (and a really good nap in the truck ride!) At the end of the month was our little guy's first holiday- Halloween! We weren't able to go anywhere yet but we dressed up and waited on all the Trick-or-Treaters to come by!

September

This has been a wonderful month for us- Jack is here and we are adjusting to all things baby! We have been so blessed with family and friends stopping by and helping us out with the baby and even bringing supper. Don't know what we would do without them! Jack has had great checkups at the doctor and he is doing well. We are learning little things as we go and are so in love- it is great experiencing all of these "firsts."

Jack has Arrived!

Our sweet Jackson Wesley Sellers made his arrival September 23, 2013 at Baptist Women's Hospital. He barely made it on his Memaw's birthday- 11:48 p.m. He is already such a blessing to our family and we are glad to have him home. There have been several sleepless nights (the first night was definitely a doozie) but he is worth every minute of it. Jack DOES NOT like the bassinet so we are currently sleeping in the Rock N' Play and that is working much better. At five days old, we had his newborn pictures made and they are wonderful! He seems to have a really good temperament and we are grateful to have a kid who is already so laid back!

Sweet Waverly

With the little one on the way, we have been a little anxious to see how the dogs will adjust to their new family member. Although we are sure they will all adjust just fine, we know of one that is already excited and will be a great pet for sure! Our miniature schnauzer, Waverly, is literally the sweetest thing on the planet anyway but she REALLY REALLY loves babies! When Matt brought the carseat in for the first time, Wave was so excited and kept looking for the baby and wondering where he was. For the past few months, she has been extra-loving towards me and we can't help to think she knows something is going on, even if she's not exactly sure what it is. This is good and bad because she is pretty much attached to me no matter where I am, including trying to sleep at night! Our sweet puppy already loves to snuggle with Jack, and she has been kicked a time or two!

We also have used her as our "test-baby" to make sure everything is safe (and by that statement, I mean we think it is hilarious and she is a good sport). Waverly has been diapered as well as tested a bouncer and tested the changing table.

Overall, she is the cutest, sweetest girl and Jackson will be lucky to have a puppy like her! We found a book that is perfect for the nursery and pays homage to a great dog!

So here's to a cool pup who keeps us entertained and truly loves everybody (even cats)!
